Then I discovered that you could put anything on a pizza - basically whatever was in your fridge or pantry.
Then I discovered great bottle sauce and stockpiled it like the end is near.
Then I discovered pre-made pizza crust super easy-to-make pizza dough that is better and cheaper than anything pre-made.
So even though I buy pepperoni, mozzarella, and bottled sauce (not Ragu), I make the dough. It's pretty easy to do if you have a KitchenAid with a dough hook too. What's that you say? No KitchenAid stand alone mixer. Well now you know what to ask for for your birthday, Christmas, or the next time you shop at Target.
I adapted the recipe from someone on the web, but I don't know who. Pisser! I would love to give credit.
Their secret ingredient was white wine. Me? I use sake. The yeastie beasties love sake.
So I'll have to find that recipe and report back.

The pizza looks absolutely delicious. I have yet to attempt homemade pizza...I hate making dough, mostly because of the kneading. When I used to make bread for 4-H, under the tutelage of my aunt, I would knead and knead and knead, and still my aunt would say, "needs more kneading." The torture!
Although I don't know whether pizza dough needs to be kneaded. And I suppose there are pre-made options! So yeah, sometime I'll be in a homemade pizza-making mood, I'm sure.
The Pioneer lady is giving away a cherry Kitchenaid mixer today, and lord help me if it's not the most beautiful thing I've seen all day. Red! Love it. I didn't enter the giveaway though, because that blog is too damn big, and I hate rejection/not winning!

Hi Amanda, Yeah for me too, the kneading is a bitch. Sometimes I did it like punishment, like workin' on a chain gang, but now the machine does it for me! I missed PW's contest - buggers. I would have sent it all to you if I won cuz I already have the red mixer! The old man does good sometime. But I missed the contest watching the stupid Olympics. Well, she only had 34,874 commenters, certainly not the greatest odds! Maybe you will get one someday. I hope so!
I also use my KitchenAid to make pizza dough...but no white wine (or sake!) in mine. Would love to try that so hope you post the recipe...or maybe I'll just swap out some wine for some of the water.
